Two months after its debut, the first model from Monte Carlo Yachts has already conquered four prestigious international prizes. The latest in chronological order is the Nautical Design Award, assigned by the ADI, the Associazione per il Design Industriale. Two World Yacht Trophies followed by the recognition as Boat of the Year 2010 assigned at the Genoa International Boat Show. Now the fourth prize in less than two months has arrived: the Nautical Design Award, that stems from the collaboration between the RCS MediaGroup and ADI. The MCY 76 has set a true record, an unprecedented four out of four in the yachting field. “Right from its world première presentation at the Festival de la Plaisance of Cannes, in early September, the MCY 76 was showered with unanimous praise from boat owners and the press”, confirmed Carla Demaria, President of Monte Carlo Yachts. “An extraordinary success, sealed by the prizes received. We are very satisfied and the reasons cited by these highly-qualified juries confirm how much our project is pushing on the right levers.” The Nautical Design Award rewards the values of the product and the excellence of the industrial process, which integrates production efficiency and the quality of human work. The Jury, made up of members of ADI and authoritative boat owners, expressed appreciation for the research in both technology and construction techniques, aimed at creating a yacht with a mature design and appreciable attention to cost containment. A product that proposes a more responsible approach to luxury, and whose value in the eyes of the Jury was enhanced by the decision of the Beneteau Group – of which Monte Carlo Yachts is part – to stake its success on Italy to build this high-range product, which also stands out for its effective exploitation of interior spaces. The prize awarded on Thursday 21 October during a gala dinner at the Seven Stars Galleria of Milan now opens the doors to the MCY 76 for the selection of the ADI Design Index and the Compasso d’Oro, the world’s most important design award.
